Layer the bread into a foil packet or foil pie plate.
Mix together the egg, milk, vanilla, 1/2 the syrup and cinnamon. Pour the mixture over the bread.
Wrap the entire dish in foil and place over the coals of a campfire or grill.
Allow to bake for 60 minutes or until the center is firm.
Top with remaining syrup, strawberries or powdered sugar.
