Oreo Dirt Pie

My kids love what they like to call "Oreo Dirt Pie" and I love how incredibly easy it is to make! This is our delicious family take on a traditional Oreo mud pie, only better.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Oreo Pie Crust
  • 3.4 oz package Instant Chocolate Pudding
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 liter Cool Whip Topping
  • 12 Oreo cookies crushed

Instructions

  • Prepare the ingredients. Unwrap the Oreo cookie crust and set the whipped topping out on the counter to defrost.
  • In a large bowl, prepare the instant pudding mix. Use a hand mixer to whisk together with two cups of cold milk and place in the fridge to set for at least 5 minutes.
  • When the pudding sets, fold in half of the whipped topping into the chocolate pudding.
  • Spread the pudding mixture over the pie crust.
  • Cover the pudding layer in the remaining Cool Whip.
  • Spread the whipped topping over the top of the pie.
  • Place the cookies into a large freezer bag and crush them up using a rolling pin or the end of a wooden spoon. You could also use a food processor to create Oreo crumbs.
  • Sprinkle the Oreo cookie crumbs over top of the pie.

Notes

  • Use whole milk for a thicker, richer pudding.
  • Chill the pie for at least an hour to help the layers set properly.
  • Add extra crushed Oreos, mini marshmallows, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup between layers for a fun twist.
  • For the full effect, add gummy worms crawling out of the “dirt.”
  • Don’t skip the plastic wrap when storing—it keeps everything fresh and fluffy.
