Ingredients
- Oreo pie crust โ You can make a homemade cookie crumb crust, but the ready-made kind is even easier.
- Instant chocolate pudding โ Your shortcut to a rich, creamy filling with zero stovetop required.
- Cold milk โ Make sure itโs cold, not room temperature, or the pudding wonโt set like it should.
- Cool Whip โ Light and fluffy, it’s the perfect creamy addition to this recipe.
- Oreo cookies, crushed โ The ultimate dirt pie topping.

Note: I transferred my premade Oreo crust to a glass pie plate, but that’s not necessary. You could also make a homemade Oreo pie base like this one.

Instructions
1. Prepare the ingredients. Unwrap the store-bought Oreo crust and set the whipped topping out on the counter to defrost.

2. In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to blend the instant pudding mix with 2 cups of cold milk. Pop it in the fridge for 5 minutes to firm up.

3. Once the chocolate pudding has set, fold in half of the whipped topping until combined.

4. Spread the pudding mixture over the pie crust.

5. Cover the pudding layer in the remaining Cool Whip.

6. Spread the whipped topping over the top of the pie.

7. Place the Oreo cookies into a large freezer bag and crush them up using a rolling pin or the end of a wooden spoon. You could also use a food processor to create Oreo crumbs.

8. Sprinkle the Oreo cookie crumbs over top of the pie.

9. Place the pie into the fridge to set up and rest until ready to serve.

Tips and Tricks
- Use whole milk for a thicker, richer pudding.
- Chill the pie for at least an hour to help the layers set properly.
- Add extra crushed Oreos, mini marshmallows, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup between layers for a fun twist.
- For the full effect, add gummy worms crawling out of the โdirt.โ
- Donโt skip the plastic wrap when storingโit keeps everything fresh and fluffy.

There are a ton of ways that this delicious dessert could be changed up and personalized.
Oreo Pie Variations
- Use instant vanilla pudding mix instead of chocolate.
- Try swapping out the regular Oreos for mint Oreos, golden Oreos, or any other fun flavors.
- Use a graham cracker pie crust instead of Oreo crust.
- Add a layer of cream cheese sweetened with a bit of powdered sugar under the pudding.
- Add gummy worms or other candies to the top layer.
- Drizzle melted chocolate or chocolate sauce over the pie!
- Place the filling into individual cups or layer in a trifle dish.
- Use homemade whipped cream.
- Add creamy peanut butter to the pudding layer.

Pie looks yummy and refreshing, I’ve made this “pie” several times. First time was in a rectangle pan and decorated the top like a garden, complete with a tiny rabbit. The other times in a “new” plastic flower pot, served it with a “new” garden trowel. I also inserted a new and then washed off fake flowers, inserted into the pot. laid a pair of garden gloves for the trowel to rest on. Made it for a church dinner. People kept moving it to the center of the table as a decoration. I kept moving it back to the dessert table, it wasn’t until the priest’s wife said can she have some to me. People were gobsmacked, thinking she was eating potting soil. lol
Those both sound amazing! I love the church dinner story, too funny! Thanks so much for sharing <3
