1. Place potatoes in a large pot, cover with water and bring to a boil over medium high heat.
2. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are fork tender.
3. Drain water from cooked potatoes.
4. In a large bowl combine potatoes, butter, cream cheese and half of the cheddar cheese.
5. Use a potato masher or hand held mixer to mash potatoes until smooth.
6. Spread the creamy mashed potatoes evenly in a 9x12 casserole dish.
7. Top with remaining cheese and bacon.
8. Place in the oven at 350 for 30 mins.
9. Top with green onions and serve.
