I think most people would agree that cooking eggs is a pretty easy task. For a lot of us, it was the first thing we learned how to cook on our own. But would you believe that it just got even easier?

Today I am sharing how to make hard boiled eggs in an air fryer with absolutely zero water. No need to boil water on the stove top! Even an Instant Pot uses water, but not this method.

Whether you want to make eggs for a meal, to have on hand as a snack, or just want to air fry a bunch to turn into Easter eggs, you are going to love how simple it is to get perfect hard boiled eggs every time.

Eggs are a much cheaper protein than meat, which makes them a great addition to your weekly meal plan. I use these air fryer eggs for potato salad, avocado toast, egg salad sandwiches, and chicken cobb salad.

They also make a delicious grab-and-go high protein snack. I like to slice them in half and sprinkle on a little salt and pepper or everything bagel seasoning. So yummy!

Recipe Notes

  • You can adjust the cooking time slightly depending on your preference. Decrease the cooking time by a few minutes for a soft boiled egg or increase it for firmer yolks.
  • Because egg sizes can vary, you can adjust the quantity of eggs cooked in the air fryer, as long as they fit in a single layer in the basket without overlapping.

  • Hard-boiled eggs can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week in their shells.
  • You can reheat hard-boiled eggs by briefly placing them in the air fryer at a low temperature until warmed through.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I put my eggs into cold water after they are cooked?
Putting your eggs straight into an ice water bath stops the cooking process, makes them easier to peel, and can help prevent the egg yolk from changing color.

What can I serve with hard-boiled eggs?
Hard-boiled eggs are versatile and can be enjoyed on their own, sliced on salads, mashed for sandwiches, or made into deviled eggs.
