The not-so-secret ingredient in this easy recipe is the pre-made pizza crust dough from Pillsbury. I use it in our Pizza Bun Recipe too and love how quickly I can whip up a delicious recipe with it!!

We are huge fans of anything in the shape of a Christmas tree. Be sure to check out this Spinach Dip Christmas Appetizer or Holiday Charcuterie to see what I’m talking about.

How to Make Christmas Tree Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients:

  • Refrigerated pizza crust – this is my go-to shortcut for quick and easy cinnamon rolls, no need to make dough from scratch!
  • Salted butter – I love using salted butter for that extra bit of flavor.
  • Granulated sugar – a sprinkle of sugar adds just the right amount of sweetness to the twists.
  • Ground cinnamon – you can’t have cinnamon rolls without a generous amount of warm, fragrant cinnamon!
  • Olive oil or melted butter – either one works, but I usually go for melted butter to brush over the dough for a rich finish.
  • Powdered sugar – perfect for making that sweet, snowy icing to drizzle on top of the Christmas tree rolls.
  • Milk – just a splash helps turn powdered sugar into a smooth and creamy icing, ideal for topping off this dessert!

Tip: I love how using Pillsbury crust cuts out so much of the last minute prep work, but if you prefer, homemade pizza dough totally works for this recipe as well.

I plan on making this pull apart Christmas tree for family how r u getting the triangle shape I assume after cutting it from corner to corner one side is flat and will not be a triangle shape, are u then cutting another section off to get the triangle?

Can you use can of crescent rolls instead of pie crust?

Could I use frozen puff pastry instead of pizza dough? (Letting it thaw first, obviously)

Can you premake this the night before and bake it in the morning?
