Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make these on the stove if I don’t have a crockpot?

Yes! Melt the candy and peanut butter over medium heat in a glass bowl set over a large saucepan of simmering water. Stir until smooth, just like you would with the crockpot.

Can I use different kinds of candy melts?

Totally! You can mix things up with white chocolate haystacks, butterscotch haystacks, or even dark chocolate.

How long do these last?

If stored in an airtight container, these can last for 3-4 days, but I doubt they’ll stick around that long. They’re too tasty!

Can I find everything I need at my local grocery store?

Yes! Chow mein noodles, candy melts, and peanut butter are easy to find in most grocery stores. You can even grab the candy eyeballs there, too.

What’s the trick to getting the perfect consistency?

The candy melts typically melt perfectly in a crockpot but you can also melt them in a microwave. Stir the mixture every now and then in 30-second increments when melting to make sure nothing clumps. The smoother the mixture, the better the coating for your noodles.
