Cinnamon Roll Brain Recipe

Supplies
- 10″ round baking dish
- Medium mixing bowl
- Butter knife
Ingredients
- Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls โ Fluffy, sweet, and easy to use; weโve tried every store brand, but nothing beats Pillsbury rolls.
- Non-stick baking spray โ A quick spritz keeps your โbrainsโ from sticking to the dish.
- Red food coloring โ Just a drop turns regular frosting into gory brain goo.
Tip: Homemade cream cheese icing can also be added to the top of the casserole, but using the icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls is just as good in our opinion!

Instructions
1. Open the two cans of dough and set aside the icing. Heat your oven to 350ยฐF.

2. Unroll each of the large cinnamon rolls almost to the center.

3. Spray a 10″ round casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Note: A square or rectangular baking pan or cookie sheet can be used to cook these as well.
4. Arrange half of the cinnamon roll dough in foldy twists on one side of the dish.

5. Repeat on the other side of the dish with the remaining dough. Leave a 1/2″ gap down the center.
6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

7. Mix a drop or two of red food coloring into the icing.

8. Top the cinnamon roll casserole with the pink icing using a butter knife or offset spatula.

How to Store These Cinnamon Rolls
If you have leftovers of this recipe, which is highly unlikely, you can store them in an airtight container (or covered in plastic wrap) at room temperature for a day or in the fridge for up to one week.
Tips and Tricks
- For the best results, use Pillsbury Grands. They are extra fluffy and hold their shape better than off-brand cinnamon rolls.
- Use gel food coloring for a more vibrant, blood-red look to the icing.
- Prep the rolls the night before, cover, and bake fresh in the morning for an easy Halloween breakfast.
- For extra gooey โbrainsโ, pour 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream over the unbaked cinnamon rolls before they go in the oven. It soaks into the dough while baking, making the centers irresistibly soft and melt-in-your-mouth delicious!
- A silicone baking mat under your dish can help prevent over-browning.

This is one of our new favorite Halloween recipes to make. It’s a big hit with all my boys and the perfect way to feed a crowd on busy mornings.

Cinnamon Roll Variations
- Add a spoonful of apple pie filling and a sprinkle of brown sugar under the dough for an apple cinnamon roll casserole.
- Or try cherry or strawberry filling for extra โbloodyโ detail.
- Skip the oven and make air fryer cinnamon rolls for a faster morning treat.
- Refrigerate overnight or for at least four hours before cooking to create an overnight breakfast casserole.
- Use a slow cooker on low for 2 hours to make gooey crockpot cinnamon rolls.
- Drizzle with a little maple syrup or caramel sauce for added sweetness.
- Top with crushed Halloween candy or Halloween sprinkles for extra color and crunch.
- Mix in a drop of black food coloring to the frosting for a darker, haunted effect.
