We love pasta, like this one pot hamburger helper and creamy shrimp spaghetti recipe. It really is the ultimate comfort food.

But sometimes the classic tomato sauce just gets a bit boring. That’s why I like to find recipes that use different types of sauces instead.

Today’s easy chicken spaghetti recipe is exactly the kind of quick pasta dish I love. Similar to carbonara, but without the hassle of adding egg, this recipe uses heavy cream to help create a creamy garlic butter sauce.

Chicken Spaghetti Recipe

It is a family favorite and perfect for a busy weeknight dinner, when we have a lot of other things going on. In minutes, I can prepare a delicious dish for my boys that will fill them up and keep them going.

Add a simple side salad and garlic bread and you have a complete meal that the whole family loves.

Tips and Tricks

  • Make a baked version of this yummy recipe. Transfer everything to a casserole dish, top with extra cheese, and bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees F, until the cheese melts and turns golden brown.
  • If your sauce seems too thick, add in a bit of extra cream, chicken broth, a little white wine, or even pasta water.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

Alternate Ingredients

  • Use any long pasta you prefer. Angel hair pasta works particularly well, but you could also try linguine or fettucine.
  • Whole grain pasta can also be used.
  • Leftover chicken from a previous meal or rotisserie chicken can replace the chicken breast.
  • Substitute shrimp for the chicken.
  • Add vegetables like bell pepper or mushrooms.
  • Try garlic powder if fresh garlic isn’t available.
  • Add lemon zest.
