Monster Mocktail Recipe

Servings: 3 Mocktails

Prep Time: 15 Minutes

Supplies:

  • 3 Champagne glasses
  • 3 Syringes (in the party supplies section)
Ingredients for monster mocktails in bowls on a white table.

Ingredients

  • Vanilla frosting: Sweet and creamy, perfect for creating a fun rim.
  • Black sanding sugar or sprinkles: Adds a fun, crunchy texture and spooky sparkle to your frosting rim.
  • Candy eyes: These bring a playful, creepy touch to your glass, perfect for Halloween vibes.
  • Sprite – or your favorite lemon-lime soda: A fizzy, refreshing base for your spooky drinks or party punches.
  • Red Grenadine: Adds a deep red color and sweet, fruity flavor that’s perfect for creepy cocktails or mocktails.
  • Red food coloring: Enhances that dramatic blood-red effect for extra spooky fun in your drink.

Instructions

1. First dip the rim of your champagne glasses in vanilla icing.

2. Cover the icing in black sanding sugar. Place a small amount of icing on the back of two candy eyeballs and place the eyes on the front of your glass.

3. Fill each glass ¾ of the way with Sprite.

4. Stir your grenadine and food coloring together. I find that liquid food coloring is best for this. Fill each syringe a ¼ of the way with the red mixture. Wipe the outside of each syringe off well with a paper towel and place inside each glass.

5. Have the kiddos empty the syringes into the glasses. Sip and enjoy. This is such a fun Halloween mocktail for the kiddos!

Tips and Tricks

  • You can try simple syrup or honey to line the rim of the glasses if you don’t want to use icing.
  • Try using club soda or ginger ale instead of Sprite. You could even use orange juice or lemonade as the base liquid. This may effect the final color of the drink.

  • If you aren’t a fan of grenadine, use different red juices instead, like raspberry, black cherry, or cranberry juice.
  • Fill the syringes with different colors to create monster punch, witch’s brew, or a purple people eater.
  • Add your favorite booze, like rum or vodka, for an adults-only version.
