Tips and Tricks for Smoked Salmon Flatbread

  • Add Fresh Toppings: For extra flavor, top your flatbread with fresh ingredients like sliced red onion, cherry tomatoes, and salty capers. These additions will enhance the taste and add vibrant color to your dish.
  • Customize the Bread Base: If you want to switch things up, try using pizza dough to create a homemade pizza crust or a crescent roll sheet for a flaky, baked crust instead of naan or pita bread.
  • Enhance Your Cream Cheese: If you don’t have herb & garlic cream cheese, you can easily use plain cream cheese and mix in your favorite ingredients like lemon zest, bagel seasoning, or boursin cheese for a rich, flavorful spread.
  • Experiment with Cheese: Don’t hesitate to switch out the goat cheese with boursin cheese or plain cream cheese. Each option will give your flatbread a different texture and taste, allowing you to customize it to your preference.
  • Add Flavor with Seasonings: Sprinkle everything but the bagel seasoning or lemon zest over your flatbread to add an extra layer of flavor that pairs perfectly with the smoked salmon.
  • Store Leftovers Properly: To keep your flatbread fresh, store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. The flatbread will stay good for a day or two, though it’s best enjoyed fresh.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a different type of bread instead of naan or pita?

Yes, you can use other options like pizza dough to make a homemade pizza crust or a crescent roll sheet for a lighter, flakier base.

How long can I store leftovers?

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. However, keep in mind that the flatbread may become soggy over time, so it’s best to eat it fresh.

Can I use a different type of cheese?

Definitely! You can substitute the goat cheese with boursin cheese or plain cream cheese. Each will provide a different flavor and texture, so feel free to experiment with your favorite cheese.
