Smoked Salmon Salad Recipe
Ingredients
Hereโs what youโll need to get started:
- Smoked salmon, cubed โ You can use hot-smoked salmon for a more robust flavor or cold smoked salmon if you prefer a milder taste. Both types of salmon work great, so go with your favorite!
- Fresh dill, chopped โ fresh dill is a must for that classic salmon salad flavor.
- Celery stalks, finely diced โ adds a nice crunch.
- Red onion, finely diced โ for a bit of bite and color.
- Fresh lemon juice โ brightens up the flavors.
- Ground black pepper โ a touch of spice.
- Mayonnaise โ this is your creamy base. If youโre looking for a healthier option, you can substitute with Greek yogurt or sour cream.

Instructions
Now, letโs get into how to make this tasty salad. Itโs super simple!
1. Prepare the ingredients and dice the celery, onion and salmon. I like to cube the smoked salmon into smaller pieces so itโs easier to mix and eat.

2. In a large salad bowl, combine the cubed salmon, dill, celery, red onion, lemon juice, black pepper, and mayonnaise. Stir everything together until itโs well-mixed and creamy.
3. You can serve this salad in so many ways! My personal favorite is to scoop it onto fresh salad greens like baby spinach or butter lettuce. You can also spread it on a bagel or sandwich with a little cream cheese for an easy lunch.

If you have leftovers (which I doubt!), store them in an airtight container in the fridge. It should keep for a couple of days, but trust me, it wonโt last that long!

Optional Add-Ins
If youโre feeling adventurous, here are some great ways to mix things up:
- Cream cheese or goat cheese โ for an extra creamy texture.
- Dijon mustard โ adds a tangy kick.
- Soft-boiled eggs โ boosts the protein content.
- Apple cider vinegar โ a splash for a bit more acidity.
- Mixed greens or butter lettuce โ to serve as a bed for your salad.
- Feta cheese โ crumbled on top for a salty bite.
- Pumpkin seeds โ adds a bit of crunch and a nutty flavor.

Tips and Tricks for Salmon Salad
- For the best flavor, make sure your smoked salmon is at room temperature before mixing. This allows the flavors to meld together nicely.
- Experiment with different types of salmon: Cold-smoked salmon has a silky texture, while hot-smoked salmon is flakier and has a stronger taste. Both are delicious, so feel free to use whichever you prefer.
- Add some greens: Serving this salad on a bed of mixed greens or baby spinach is a great way to add more nutrients to your meal.
- Make it lighter: Swap the mayonnaise for Greek yogurt or sour cream to lighten up the dish without sacrificing the creamy texture.
- Storing tip: If youโre making this ahead of time, consider leaving the salad ingredients separate from the dressing until youโre ready to serve. This helps keep the salad from getting soggy.

I just made the salad, I substituted English cucumber for celery and it is so good. Iโm sure it would be good with the celery, but I just really love English cucumbers and they work really well also
Sounds delicious!
