Bourbon & Brown Sugar Salmon Steaks
These bourbon and brown sugar salmon steaks are a summer time staple around here. We love the rich combination of flavours and perfectly cooked fish on the grill.

Fish has become a staple in our diet as the boys and I have picked up an avid interest in fishing! Most of our fish recipes are made using fresh fish that we have caught!
Bourbon & Brown Sugar Salmon Steaks:
Ingredients:
- 6 salmon steaks, 1.5″ thick
- 1 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 orange, juice
- Parsley, for garnish
Directions:
- Rinse and pat the salmon steaks dry with paper towel.
- Mix together bourbon and brown sugar in a large baking dish.
- Place steaks in the dish and use a spoon to cover each one with the marinade mixture.
4. Sprinkle fresh garlic over the steaks and squeeze the juice from half of an orange over top.
5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours and up to 4 hours.
6. Heat the grill to 400 degrees.
7. Cook the steaks for 5 minutes on each side.
8. Top with fresh parsley and serve.
We love this paired with grilled vegetables like fresh green beans or asparagus topped with cheese sauce. I am a salmon loving convert after tasting this yummy recipe for the first time. Now we have it once a week at least.

Costco has great deals on fresh Salmon. We recently returned from an epic fishing trip to Prince Rupert and were lucky enough to bring home tons of fresh salmon and halibut.
Even the kids loved this salmon recipe and had leftovers for lunch the next day. It’s easy for kids to eat because the bones can be simply pulled out and discarded.
