Making this in the Ninja Creami gives you that rich, thick consistency that’s just like a milkshake shop’s version—if not better! Whether you’re making this for kids or just indulging in a nostalgic treat, this shake is sure to be a hit.
The teenagers went ga-ga over this when I first made it and then when they found out it had added protein?! Well! Massive mom points, let me tell you!

Ingredients
- Plain ream cheese – helps create a smooth texture.
- Heavy cream – also called whipping cream, use a high fat content liquid here.
- Vanilla protein shake – we use Premier Protein because I love the macros but Fairlife Pro is a good substitute.
- Granulated white sugar – you could also use Monk Fruit sweetener.
- Vanilla extract – enhances the flavor and adds a subtle sweetness.
- Mint extract – gives the shake its signature cool, minty taste.
- Green food coloring – turns the shake that iconic Shamrock green.
- Whipping cream, optional – a fun, fluffy topping to complete the treat!
- Festive sprinkles, optional – for a fun St Patricks Day vibe.

Instructions
1. Combine all ingredients in the Ninja Creami pint and use a hand blender or whisk to stir well until the sugar is dissolved.
2. Place the container on a flat surface in the freezer and let it freeze for at least 24 hours, or until solid.

3. Remove the pint from the freezer and let it sit for 30 seconds. Run it under hot water briefly to loosen the edges.
4. Secure the pint into the Ninja Creami outer bowl, then lock the lid in place.

5. Select the “Shake” function on the Ninja Creami and let it run through the cycle. If it’s still thick you can add an additional tablespoon of protein shake and respin.

6. Pour the shake into a glass, add a straw and top with whipped cream and sprinkles if desired. Enjoy immediately!

Tips & Tricks
- Place the pint on a flat surface in your freezer to prevent freezing at an angle.
- If the ice cream is too hard, use the Re-spin function for a softer consistency.
- Let the frozen pint sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes or run under hot water for 30 seconds before spinning to prevent icy chunks.
- If a dome forms on top while freezing, try freezing without the lid next time and scrape off any excess before spinning to protect your blades.
- If you’re looking to reduce sugar content, consider using natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup for a different flavor profile.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I make this recipe even higher in protein?
Use Premier Protein shakes or Fairlife milk instead of the cream. You can also mix in a scoop of your favorite protein powder before freezing! Try different protein shake flavors, such as chocolate.
Can I add different mix-ins?
Of course! Add crushed chocolate chips, cookie crumbles, or even a swirl of chocolate syrup after the first blending cycle.
How should I store leftovers?
Flatten the top before refreezing in the pint. If it hardens too much, reprocess it using the same mode you originally used. To prevent ice crystals, press parchment paper directly onto the surface before sealing and freezing.

To make the most of your Ninja Creami experience, consider having the following tools on hand:
- Ninja Creami – we purchased ours from Costco online when it was on sale. This machine transforms frozen ingredients into creamy ice cream with ease.
- Pint containers – these usually come with the Creami but I purchased more so that I could make batches of high-protein ice cream for the week.
- Ice cream scoop – makes serving easy and gives you those perfect scoops.
- Ice cream bowls – because eating ice cream straight from the pint is great, but a bowl makes it fancy.
- Pint cozy – helps keep your hands from freezing while enjoying your treat, plus they make a great gift!
- Hand blender – needed for mixing ingredients smoothly before freezing.

This Ninja Creami Shamrock Shake is a delicious way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at home! Enjoy the minty goodness and festive fun of this homemade treat.
