More pumpkin spice favorites!

Most recently, as we are heading into fall, I have noticed the leaves have begun to change color as the trees prepare for the colder weather to come. I love seeing all of the yellows, oranges, and reds on the different varieties of tree.

Not only does fall bring a lot of natural beauty, this season also brings some very delicious flavors with it. Fresh orchard apples, fields of pumpkins, and plenty of root vegetables are ready and waiting for me to take advantage of.

Tips and Tricks

  • To get the best results from this recipe, when purchasing pumpkin, make sure that it is canned pumpkin puree, rather than pumpkin pie filling. Even better, make your own puree during pumpkin season and freeze it.
  • You can then use your homemade pumpkin puree all year long to make all your favorite treats, like pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, or these pumpkin spice donuts.

  • Store leftovers in the fridge, either in an airtight container or covered with plastic wrap.
  • Besides apples and Golden Oreos, some of our family’s other favorite dippers include vanilla wafers, ginger snaps, and regular or cinnamon graham crackers.
  • Make a pumpkin fluff pie. Fill a fully baked and cooled pie crust or graham cracker crust with the pumpkin dip and chill to set. You can even top your pie with extra whipped topping.
