- Fork to beat the egg
Mini Hot Dog Appetizers Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 6 hot dogs
- 1 egg
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 F.
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3. Cut hot dogs into small pieces. (approximately 6 pieces each)
4. Flour the surface and roll out the puff pastry.
5. Prepare the egg wash by beating 1 egg together with 1 tablespoon of water.
6. Cut the puff pastry into equal looking strips.
7. Brush one end of each puff pastry strip with the egg wash.
8. Add 1 piece of sausage and roll it up. Place on the baking sheet.
9. Brush the top of the pigs in the blanket with egg wash. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
10. Bake until golden brown (about 20 minutes).

- To get the best results with this simple recipe, use quality ingredients, like all-beef hot dogs and really good puff pastry.
- Let the pastry thaw in the fridge overnight or on the countertop for about an hour.
