Ingredients
- All-beef hot dogs โ A good hot dog makes all the difference, so go for the best hot dogs you can find. Harvest all-beef franks are our favorites. Be sure to remove any natural casings that may be on the dogs before smoking.
- Hot dog buns โ Toasted is best. Try potato rolls if you want to get fancy.
- BBQ sauce โ Sweet Baby Rayโs is our go-to, but we also love to use this amazing homemade BBQ sauce when we have time!

Instructions
1. Preheat your smoker to 225ยฐF.

2. Unwrap the hot dogs and remove any natural casing or plastic wrap.
3. Use a sharp knife to cut a few score marks into the hot dogs or try a fun spiral cut or crosshatch pattern.
Note: This step is optional, but it helps the smoky flavor to soak into the dog by increasing surface area.
4. Use a pastry brush to brush a bit of BBQ sauce onto each dog.

5. Place dogs directly on the grill grates of the smoker.

6. Cook for 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 140ยฐF when a meat thermometer is inserted into the end of the hot dog.
Tip: Try not to open the smoker during this process, as it will allow the smoke to escape and drop the temperature.

7. Use the tongs to place the dogs on a sheet pan or tray for serving.
