3. Place the strawberries in a small bowl for later.

Crush Strawberry Powder

4. Next, take your freeze-dried strawberries and crush them into small pieces using your clean hands or while wearing gloves. I suggest using your hands so the strawberries are a bit chunky, for more strawberry flavor and texture.

5. Set the freeze-dried strawberries to the side.

6. Get your clean cutting board and spreadable butter.

Spreading Butter

7. Using your spatula, scoop out your butter and place it at the top of the board.

8. Using the same spatula, spread the butter across and down the middle of the board. Move the spatula from side to side to create a nice zig zag pattern. Make sure to leave about a half inch of space on each side.

9. Next, gather both kinds of strawberries, honey, and cinnamon. Place them next to the board.

10. Start by adding the freeze-dried strawberries to the butter first. Heavily sprinkle the strawberries throughout the whole board, covering the butter.

11. Next, sprinkle your cinnamon all over the board. Add as much or as little of the cinnamon as you prefer.

12. Now add the fresh strawberries. Spread them over the board randomly or you can do a pattern to be really creative with your board.

13. Lastly, add the honey to the board. Make sure to pour enough honey over the spread that there is honey flavor in every bite.

Notes:

  • This board was inspired by brunch. That’s why I used bagels, french toast sticks, and waffles, but this flavor combination can go with so many other snacks. Try it with crackers, biscuits, cookies, breads, and even pretzels.
  • This board serves 10-14 people depending on the size of the snack you are spreading the butter on. Up to 10 people for larger items like bagels and waffles and up to 14 people for items like cookies and crackers.
  • To save any leftover strawberry butter, remove it from the board using a spatula and place it in an airtight container. It will last in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Depending on the size of your group, you can use a large board or a smaller board. You can also use a sheet pan as a food board.
  • A great way to save on cleanup is to wrap your board in plastic wrap before adding the butter and other ingredients.
  • Make this butter board recipe with a Valentine’s theme. Use small heart-shaped cookie cutters to cut out the strawberries.
  • Use your favorite fresh fruit to change up this breakfast board. Why not try bananas, raspberries, or pomegranate seeds?
  • Add a layer of strawberry jam or fruit compote over the butter.
