Taco Seasoning Recipe

I love creating my own spice blends. The grocery store is full of packaged spice mixes, but they tend to be full of fillers, like sugar, flour, and way too much salt.

Too busy to make this right away? Pin it for later! Pin this post to your favorite board on Pinterest and it will be there when you’re ready!

One of my favorite things about making my own mixes is that I can create healthy recipes for my family. Making them at home means that I get to choose exactly what is going into my seasoning and I can eliminate all that extra stuff that is in a store-bought packet.

Today, I am sharing my go-to taco seasoning recipe. I love having DIY taco seasoning on hand at all times. It is a staple in my kitchen.

This recipe is such a great alternative to store-bought taco seasoning, and I like to add it to all sorts of Mexican dishes! It also literally takes just a few minutes to put together, even when I make multiple batches! You probably even have all of these simple spices in your pantry already.

  • Looking for a medium or hot taco mix? Simply add more chili powder and/or cayenne pepper to the mix. You could also try including red pepper flakes in the recipe.

TIPS FOR KETO COOKING

  • Find low carb substitutions for your current favorite recipes. Try using cauliflower instead of perogies or radishes instead of potatoes.
  • Maintain a healthy balance of protein and fats. Sometimes it’s hard to get enough fat and/or protein in a ketogenic diet, so be sure to include a balance of both in your dishes.
  • Plan ahead and use tools like this Meal Planning Printable to reach maximum success.
  • Find recipes that you love, like this Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole, Taco Bake, and Hamburger Soup, and use them in your weekly rotation.
