This strawberry parfait is a must make and on our spring-time menu every year! Especially with our group of teenage boys, we can’t go wrong with anything that involves chocolate and whipped cream.

Easy Valentine's Day Parfait Recipe

This sweet parfait is the ideal dessert for a baby shower, birthday party or Valentine’s Day. Parfaits make the best party food because they are pretty much no fail recipes that are beyond simple to create.

Valentine's Day Parfait Ingredients

Valentine parfait recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz (170g) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup sliced frozen strawberries, defrosted
  • 2 cups whipped cream topping
  • 1/4 cup fresh strawberries, cored, halved and cut into hearts
  • 2 Tbsp valentine sprinkles

Note: any of these ingredients can be swapped out for your favorite. Have fun experimenting!

Directions:

1. In a large mixing bowl combine milk and chocolate pudding mix.

2. Mix on low for about two minutes until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

3. Cover in plastic wrap and place in the fridge to set for at least 30 minutes.

4. Place the frozen strawberries is a small bowl and into the microwave to defrost.

5. Cut the fresh strawberries in heart shapes.

6. Once the pudding is set, begin layering ingredients into champagne flutes or jars. Begin with about 2 tablespoons of chocolate pudding.

Tip: Use a small tea spoon to place pudding into the bottom of the glass so that it doesn’t get all over the sides of the flute.

Note: No champagne flute? No problem! Simply switch up the glass or container in which it is served for an entirely no look.

7. Add a tablespoon of strawberry slices.

8. Top the whipped cream.

9. Repeat the layer of pudding to fill the cup.

10. Top with whipped cream and fresh strawberry hearts.

How to store:

This easy dessert recipe is just as good the next day, in fact, its the perfect make-ahead treat for the holiday season! Simply store the different ingredients in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Then you can quickly layer them into your glass containers before the party or event.

Variations to try:

  • Use vanilla or banana pudding to create a different flavor profile.
  • Add your favorite fruit! Raspberries, sliced bananas or even mango would be a nice change.
  • You could also add layers of chocolate cake or Oreo cookie crumble!
  • Top with sprinkles or maraschino cherries.
