Chocolate pops are primarily made of chocolate chips or chocolate wafers that are topped with a mixture of candy, nuts or sprinkles. They are most commonly made by melting the chocolate in the microwave and last up to three months in the pantry.
I love, love, love how these Christmas Grinch pops turned out! They are so festive and fun and make a great addition to any holiday gathering or party.
How to make Grinch chocolate pops:
Ingredients:
- 12 oz Meltable green chocolate candy melts
- 1/4 cup green Christmas sprinkles
- 1 Tbsp red candy hearts
- Eight 4″ lollipop sticks
- Piping bag or freezer bag
Directions:
1. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt in 15 to 30 second intervals, checking and stirring each time so that the chocolate doesn’t burn.
2. Place lollipop sticks onto a prepared baking sheet.
3. Place the melted chocolate into a piping bag, cut the tip from the bag and pipe chocolate into circles at the top of each stick.
4. Add candy sprinkles to the melted chocolate.
5. Top each chocolate lollipop with a red candy heart or two.
6. Place the chocolate in the fridge and allow it to harden completely before serving.
Tips for making chocolate pops:
- Use candy melts for best results, the wafer chocolate melts the best. Add one teaspoon of coconut oil to other chocolate to help it melt and pour better.
- Pour chocolate onto a parchment lined baking sheet for easy moving and transporting before the chocolate has hardened.
- Place the chocolate in the fridge or freezer to completely cool before serving.
- Store the chocolate in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three months. It can also be stored in the fridge to prevent it from melting.
