DIY Wooden Snowflake Christmas Ornament
This DIY Wood & Yarn Snowflake Ornament is absolutely lovely! These wooden ornaments make an awesome craft for adults or kids to do during the holidays.
Handmade ornaments make great gifts for the holiday season! I love the rustic look that these pieces of wood and yarn add to our decor.

How to make these DIY ornaments:

Get the supplies:
- 4″ rustic wood slices (or sturdy cardboard)
- Drill or hole punch
- Red Yarn
- Yarn Needle
- Hot glue gun
- Baker’s twine
- Snowflake pattern (link in blog post below)
Directions:
- Drill holes into the wooden round using the snowflake pattern as your guide. Each small hole can be cut with your smallest drill bit.
2. Thread about 3ft of yarn through the needle and stitch through the holes, creating a snowflake pattern. Tie off the ends on the back side of the ornament.
Alternatively you can use a round piece of cardboard as the ornament base.
Simply punch the holes using a hole punch.
Then thread with yarn. Only about a foot of yarn is needed here because the cardboard is thinner than the wood.
3. Finally, use a dab of hot glue to adhere a bit of bakers twine to the back of the ornament for hanging.
