My boys love these because they taste like ice cream bites, but I secretly love them even more because theyโve got added protein so I don’t feel too bad when they inhale a handful. Theyโre perfect for keeping in the freezer during the holidays or any time of year when you want something quick, cold, and delicious.

Or toss them in a cup of hot cocoa for a creamy, chocolate-y indulgence. Just try not to eat the whole batch at onceโyouโve been warned!
We love to serve them at our Elf Party and they make a great addition to our Holiday Cookie Exchange.

This easy holiday treat can be personalized with a wide variety of festive ingredients! Try using your favorite protein powder of choice – they come in a ton of different flavours now.

How to Make Protein Cool Whip Candy
Ingredients
- Container of Cool Whip
- Chocolate protein powder
- Chocolate melting wafers
- Festive sprinkles

Instructions
1. Mix the protein powder into the container of Cool Whip.

2. Spread the protein, cool whip mixture into square silicone molds and freeze for 24 hours. The 24 hours is needed otherwise they turn into a melty mess! You could also just drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet and freeze – thus avoiding the need for molds.
3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate wafers in the microwave at 15 second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely smooth.

4. De-mold the cool whip and dip each bite into the chocolate, letting any excess chocolate dip off, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
5. Top with festive sprinkles before the chocolate starts to cool.

6. Place the chocolate bites back into the freezer until you’re ready to use them.

Tips for Making These Christmas Treats
- Use candy melts for best results. The wafer chocolate melts the best. Add one teaspoon of coconut oil to other chocolate to help it melt and pour better.
- Instead of a microwave, use a double boiler or a glass bowl over simmering water to melt chocolate evenly without burning it.
- Use a fork to lift the pretzels out of the chocolate for a clean coat and to avoid sticky fingers.
- Lay the chocolate covered treat on a parchment-lined baking sheet for easy moving and transporting before the chocolate has hardened.
