Ingredients
- Large pack of Oreos, 36 cookies
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 12 oz orange chocolate melts
- Green M&Ms
- Pretzel pieces
Instructions
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Place Oreos in the large bowl of a stand mixer with paddle attachment.
3. Mix at low speed until all of the Oreos are crushed into fine crumbs. Tip: a food processor or electric mixer can be used for this step too.
4. Add softened cream cheese to the mixing bowl.
5. Mix on medium speed until a soft dough forms. A rubber spatula can be used to scape down the edges of the bowl if needed.
6. Cover the dough in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
7. Remove the dough from the fridge and roll a tablespoon-sized small ball. Tip: a small cookie scoop can help to get uniformly sized little balls.
8. Place the balls in the freezer for 1 hour to chill.
9. Melt the orange candy melts using a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 15 to 30 second increments, checking and stirring each time so that the chocolate doesn’t burn.
Alternately, you can also use this new Wilton Chocolate Melting Pot that keeps the candy coating melted at the perfect temperature!
10. Remove the cake balls from the freezer and dip them in the melted chocolate. Tip: use a fork for dipping to help the excess coating drip from each ball.
11. Place cake balls on the prepared baking sheet and immediately press a piece of broken pretzel into the top.
A wire rack could also be used to allow the excess chocolate to drip from them.
12. Add a green M&M leaf to the top before the chocolate hardens, creating a cute pumpkin shape.
13. Place the chocolate balls in the fridge and allow them to harden completely before serving.
How to store?
Store these yummy treats in a large freezer bag or airtight container at room temperature for a few hours. They can also be stored in the fridge or cool place for a week or freezer for up to three months.
Easily make this recipe into pumpkin cake pops by adding a dab of melted chocolate to the end of a lollipop stick, placing the dipped end into the ball, and then dipping into the melted candy melts.

- Lay the chocolate covered treat on a parchment-lined baking sheet for easy moving and transporting before the chocolate has hardened.
- Place the chocolate balls in the fridge or freezer to completely set before serving.
- Add cake pop sticks and pumpkin pie spice to make pumpkin spice cake pops!
- If you find the batter to be a bit too sweet, try adding a pinch of salt.
- You can use gel food coloring and white chocolate chips or candy melts if orange isn’t available.
