We had so much fun creating with Consumer Crafts last week! The boys and I made the most adorable Wooden Snowmen Ornaments with our craft supplies. We posted a hint on Facebook earlier, did you guess correctly at what we were making? With just a wooden clothes pin, white acrylic paint and a few other odds and ends you too can make the perfect snowman ornament for your Christmas tree!
I love crafts that require very few special materials or supplies because then you can make them at any time. My kids know that they can go into the craft room and find all sorts of things that will help them get creative! Keeping things organized into bins and stocked up is always helpful because then they can easily find the supplies that they may need. We tend to run out of hot glue sticks most often and I am always having to make a trip to the dollarstore to pick up more!
Materials (#ad):
Fabric Scraps
We began by painting our wooden clothes pegs white. Cameron and Isaiah did an awesome job painting everything (and I mean everything) white. Tip: fasten the wooden pins on a cup or tin can for easier painting.
Using a fine tip paintbrush I added snowman features and buttons with black and orange acrylic paint.
Finally we used a 10″ length of wire, curled around a pencil, to hang the snowman with. We twisted the wire around the snowman and hid the wire with a scrap fabric scarf tied around his neck.
It doesn’t get much easier or more adorable than that! Seriously, how cute is this Wooden Snowman Ornament!? We also made these simple snowman ornaments, alphabet block snowman and a snowman magnet craft.
Giveaway now closed.
I would use it to make vinyl decals. I want to cut out alphabet letters to go on the wall in the “library.” (That’s what we call the spare bedroom where we keep the books.)
I love banners at parties and I hand make them but this would save me time!!
Not sure….would have to fool around with it and see what it can do.
Oh please, please, please! There’s no way I’d get one otherwise ;)
Because tis the season, my first project on the Cricut would be gift tags for the presents beneath the tree. Then I’d be on to more complex projects once the holidays are over and things get to settling down.
I’d use it to embelish birthday presents with the birthday child’s name, to make the presents more special.
I would do some scrapbooking!
First, Christmas and then the list is endless.
I would try my hand at scrapbooking and would love to do stained glass

I would make applique shapes for quilting. Thanks for the chance.
I would use it to make an advent jacaranda and Christmas cards. And gift tags! This would be great to have!
I’d try my hand at advanced paper art/origami!
I would use it to cut some gift tags or something to hang on the tree.
