Red Velvet Hot Chocolate
Serves: 1

Ingredients
- Milk – This creamy base adds a smooth richness that ties everything together perfectly.
- White chocolate chips – These little gems melt into the mix, giving it a sweet, indulgent flavor.
- Sugar – Just a touch of sugar adds a little extra sweetness without overdoing it.
- Red liquid food coloring – You only need a couple of drops to give your drink that classic red velvet color.
- Whipped cream – Fluffy whipped cream makes everything feel indulgent and festive.
- Red and pink sprinkles – Sprinkles are the perfect finishing touch, adding a fun crunch and a festive splash of color!

Instructions
1. In a small pot, heat the milk over medium heat until it starts to steam. Do not let it boil.

2. Add the white chocolate chips to the saucepan and stir until they are completely melted and incorporated into the milk.
3. Stir in the sugar until it dissolves completely.
4. Add 2-3 drops of red food coloring to the saucepan and stir well to evenly distribute the color. Add more drops, if desired, for a deeper red color.

5. Continue heating the mixture for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it is hot and well combined.
6. Remove the saucepan from heat and pour the red velvet hot chocolate into mugs.

7. Top each mug with a dollop of whipped cream.
8. Sprinkle red and pink sprinkles over the whipped cream for added decoration.

9. Serve immediately and enjoy the delicious and festive red velvet hot chocolate!
Recipe Notes
- Use 1%, 2%, or whole milk. You could even substitute some of the milk with heavy cream. The higher the milk fat content, the creamier your final product will be.
- Instead of the white chocolate chips, try it with semi-sweet, dark, or milk chocolate chips.

- Add a bit of vanilla extract.
- Try substituting brown sugar for the white sugar.
- If you find that your drink is too sweet, try adding in a pinch of salt.

- Start with 2-3 drops of red food coloring and add more if you want a deeper red hue.
- Add any of your favorite toppings – mini marshmallows, a dollop of marshmallow creme, chocolate syrup, or even some cream cheese frosting, just like the cake.
Up your hot cocoa game this fall with red velvet hot chocolate. You won’t regret it!
