Everyone knows that I am a Starbucks addict; I love the coffee, the baristas, the swag and the entire coffee experience. But when I can’t make it to my favorite cafe, creating Starbucks copycat recipes at home is the next best thing!

Too busy to make this right away? Pin it for later! Pin this easy recipe to your favorite board on Pinterest and it will be waiting there when you’re ready.

My good friend Rachael has been a barista at Starbucks for years and is great about giving me tips to make the perfect drink! Any Starbucks copycat recipe should always start with this Starbucks ground coffee available on Amazon.

What is a Starbucks Peppermint Mocha made with?

The main ingredients in this mocha recipe are espresso, milk, chocolate sauce and peppermint syrup. You can find everything you need at the grocery store at a fraction of the cost of daily drive through.

If you don’t have an espresso maker, that’s okay! Simply use Starbucks dark roast to make a rich, strong brew coffee instead.

How to make steamed milk at home:

One of my favorite parts of any hot drink, is the frothy milk. It’s easy to make steamed milk at home by simply heating the milk in the microwave and then whipping it with a milk frother or immersion blender.

I love, love, love my Keurig single serve coffee maker that comes with a built in frother. I’ve also used one of these all in one, milk frother and steamers which are a great option to have at home.

How to make a Peppermint Mocha:

Ingredients:

  • Brewed strong coffee – I love this ground Espresso from Starbucks.
  • Milk, frothed – you can use half and half or cream too.
  • Chocolate syrup – this Smucker’s brand is my favorite but you can also find Torani and Ghirardelli syrups on Amazon.
  • Peppermint syrup – this one from Torani is the best!
  • Dairyland whipped cream, prepared – homemade whipped cream could be used as well.

Or add a splash of homemade baileys or rum to make a hot toddy, the perfect night cap for those chilly winter evenings.

I could honestly have this Starbucks copycat mocha everyday! Especially if I were to make it sugar free with a bit of sugar free syrup and homemade whipped cream.
