Crockpot recipe supplies:
- This 7-Quart Oval Crockpot is the only one that I use and has lasted for over ten years!
- Use 1 gallon, large freezer bags for storing the meals in. A black sharpie marker is perfect for labelling the bags.
- These Pyrex Measuring Cups are great for measuring and holding recipe ingredients.
- This Henckel Knife is my favorite for slicing and dicing in the kitchen.
How to batch crockpot freezer meals:
1. Plan meals that use a lot of overlapping ingredients to make preparation easy. Check out some of my favorite slow cooker recipes or scroll to the bottom of this post for the recipes that I used for this month.
2. Cut up all of the ingredients at once and place them into serving bowls for easy scooping and measuring. Open the canned ingredients so that they are ready to be poured into bags.
3. Label each freezer bag with the recipe and directions.
4. Place the freezer bag open into a large pyrex measuring cup so that the cup supports the ingredients being placed into the bag. This prevents them from spilling out of the bag.
5. Fill the freezer bag with the ingredients that are required for each recipe.
6. Finally, squeeze all of the air out of the bag and place it into the freezer, laying flat.
How to Prepare Crockpot Freezer Meals:
- Lay ingredients flat in the bag for easier storage. Store meals for up to three months in the freezer.
- Defrost meals in the refrigerator or place contents of the bag frozen into the crockpot. If the meal is defrosted, reduce the cooking time accordingly (subtract two hours for most slow cooker meals).
- Crockpot meals can easily be converted to Instant Pot recipes using this handy guide from Taste of Home – How to Convert Slow Cooker Recipes for the Instant Pot.
Freezer crockpot meals are a great way to support new moms by gifting them a frozen meal. With only a couple of hours of preparation, they have a delicious dinner or two for slow cooking.

Such a good idea and so helpful for us busy moms! Thanks so much for sharing :) – Trish
What is “butter chicken sauce” and where do you get it? I’ve never seen or heard of it before. Thanks!
Its a jar of sauce that you can usually find in the ethnic foods isle.
With these recipes do you thaw them prior to cooking in the crockpot? Or do you dump them in frozen?
I usually put them in the fridge the night before to thaw. Sometimes I forget and place them in the crockpot frozen.
For the coconut curry chicken, do you wait to add the coconut milk until 30 minutes remain in the crockpot? Thanks!

For the honey teriyaki chicken When do you add the corn starch and water? Before you freeze it???
So when you say add cornstarch and water at the end your are referring to at the end of putting the recipe together and not at the end of cooking time to thicken the sauce???
At the end to thicken the sauce :)
Most of these have 5-6 chicken breasts… How many is this serving? or is it doubled? I would regularly only use 3 chicken breasts in a meal.. so thought I would ask.
This is serving 4-6. We have two adults, a teenager and two littles. All of the recipes leave one extra serving usually for leftover lunch the next day :)
Thank you for sharing! Your portion sizes are perfect for our family, as hubby takes leftovers for lunch the next day as well. We voted on which recipe to try first. It was a close race, but we’ll try the Salsa Chicken first (tomorrow :-) ) and the Teriyaki Pork Chops the following day!
Luuuuuuuuuuv the preprep idea! Can’t wait to try them out! Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!
information that is very valuable to me ! good luck and verygood website دانلود فیلتر شکن
These look so easy and yummy. But I have a new picky eater/3 yr old. He used to be such a good eater, veggies especially. How do these recipes fair with picky eaters?
Also, it’s just me, hubby, and little guy. Would it be a good idea to half these recipes? Next day lunch leftovers are always welcomed, of course.
Thanks!
I would leave the serving sizes and have one serving left for the next day :) Our boys have developed picky palates as well… we just keep trying new things with them :) Good luck!
What size crockpot?
I have the same question. I tried the Yalu chicken and when I got home the parts of the breasts that were sticking up outside of the liquid were dried out and dark. We ended up throwing out the whole meal since the chicken was over cooked.
Darn! I’m sorry to hear that – definitely add more liquid next time <3
The post says 8 meals, but I am only counting 7…did I miss one? Or should that read 7?
1.Honey Teriyaki Chicken
2. Sweet & Sour Meatballs
3. BBQ Chicken
4. Salsa Chicken
5.Teriyaki Pork Chops
6. Butter Chicken
7. Coconut Curry Chicken
8?
I made 8 meals total in 4 hours – I think during this meal planning day I doubled the Sweet & Sour Meatball recipe and put two ziploc packets of that one in the freezer. You are right there are 7 recipes… you can find more recipes for crockpot freezer meals by searching the blog! Including crockpot lasagna! #nomnom
Can you please post the link to your blog? I can’t find it. Thanks, owing forward to more great recipes!
Is there enough liquid in the pork chops to cook them in the crock pot that long. Seems like there should be more or do you find yourself adding more?
Yes, there is enough liquid :)
I’m confused! You replied to add water and cornstarch before you freeze the meal. Then, you replied later, to add it at the end after it cooks to thicken the sauce.? HELP!
It should read – AFTER :) Thanks!
Hi, I was going to write on the bag for the Teriyaki Chicken. I noticed your recipe indicates cooking on low for 4-5 hours. But the bag of food you showed as an example was “4-5 hrs high, 6-7 hrs high”. I just wanted to confirm how long these should cook.
Thanks!
Just wanted to clarify…for the Curry Chicken recipe does the coconut milk go in prior to freezing or during the last 30 minutes of cooking time? The bag in the picture appears to have the coconut milk already in it. Thanks! I’m a teacher and can’t wait to try these out!
It goes in prior to freezing :)
Do you think these could be halved and still be ok in the crockpot? It is just my boyfriend and I so we wont eat this much.
I dont see why not :)
Awesome! I was just worried that maybe it wouldn’t have enough liquid or because there wouldn’t be a lot it may burn. I will try it and see :) Thanks for the great recipes!
You bet! :)
Possibly a dumb question…
Once I have prepped the ingredients do I freeze them raw? Or cook them and then freeze them?
Please and thank you.
Freeze raw :)
