Supplies you’ll need:
- Wine corks
- Wooden beads
- Small red bells
- Snowflake embellishments
- Bakers twine
- Sharp yarn needle
Tip: Michaels carries wooden beads, wine corks and bakers twine for crafting. I also found bells and wooden beads at our local Dollarama.
Directions:
- Cut an arms length of bakers twine from the roll. Thread it through the yarn needle.
2. Alternate threading cork, beads and bells onto the twine. To attach the wine cork, poke the sharp needle into the center of the cork.
3. Use a pair of pliers (if necessary) to pull the needle through the cork.
4. Continue to thread your embellishments on the bakers twine until you reach your desired length of garland. Fasten off by tieing a knot around the last wooden bead.
We made a number of garlands and crafts with these supplies! You should check out the Orange Slice Garland from last year, it still hangs from my dresser.
You can do all sorts of things with wood bead garland! They make the perfect basket stuffer and drape beautifully out of festive holiday urns and displays.
The mixture of texture and color is absolutely gorgeous!
This would make a lovely natural garland placed around the Christmas tree or hung from the mantel.
This cork garland would also be lovely hanging from the cabinets in the kitchen or dining room.
It would be super simple to make rustic cork ornaments using this technique too! All you would need to do is tie off the bakers twine into shorter lengths with a loop for hanging.
These would be pretty hanging from the Christmas tree or on gifts!

I have worked with corks before. I would suggest drilling holes it’s much easier.
That’s a great idea too!
