I have been having a lot of fun with Fall crafts lately. Something about the cooler weather has jump started my creativity! After making these Apple Block Teacher’s Gifts, I knew that they would make cute pumpkins too.
How to make this pumpkin place holder craft:

Supplies:
- Wooden alphabet blocks
- Acrylic paint
- Paint brush
- Wooden bead
- Wire
- Hot glue gun and glue
Instructions:
1. Start with a few wooden alphabet blocks.
I found these at the thrift store but you may have some lying around with the kids toys.
2. Paint the blocks orange.
I used acrylic paint and a varathane gloss sealer. Mod Podge would work too!
3. Paint a wooden bead {or small drawer pull} green, cut a piece of wire about 3 inches long and curl it around a pencil. Fasten the wire and wooden stem to the top of the pumpkin block using a hot glue gun.
4. Use the wire to hold a tag or card with your guests name on it.
Brilliant right? You could also give these little pumpkins to guests after the party as a favor and they could use them as a festive photo holder at home!
I absolutely love how these little pumpkin blocks turned out! I couldn’t stop with just them and made these Apple Blocks, Fankenstein Blocks, Snowman Blocks, Turkey Blocks and Reindeer Blocks too.
It would be fun to find the first letter of someones name and make them a personalized block. With just a little paint and creativity the sky is the limit!
