At our house, we love a good burger loaded up with all kinds of our favorite toppings. We make them a lot at home, especially when the weather is warmer.
Blue Cheese Burger Recipe
Today’s stove top blue cheese burger recipe is absolutely the best. Blue cheese is definitely an acquired taste, but I think it safe to say that if you are a fan of blue cheese, you truly love it.
There is something about this unique and stinky cheese that is just so delicious. If you are still on the fence, add a little less of the cheese crumbles and give it try. You won’t regret it.
Enjoy these delicious burgers on sesame seed buns or make them into lettuce wraps for a lower carb option. Load them up with your family’s favorite burger toppings.
I like to add a side dish or two as well. French fries, sweet potato fries, caesar salad or veggie sticks are all great options.

- Meater Thermometer – we love this wireless meat thermometer. It connects to an app that tells you exactly when your meat is done!
- BBQ tongs – we keep ours by the smoker for easy use.
- Mixing bowls – you’ll need the largest one that you have for this recipe.
- Measuring cups & measuring spoons– we often eye ball the ingredients in this recipe now but for the beginner it’s good to measure everything exactly.
- Parchment paper – used to separate the patties as you make them.
- Kitchen scale – for making the burgers equal sizes.
- Burger press – this is optional but good for making uniform burgers.
Tips and Tricks
- Make up the burgers ahead of time. Keep the individual hamburger patties separated with parchment paper or wax paper and store them in the fridge or freezer. When you are ready to cook the meat, pull out as many frozen burgers as you want.
- The cooking time will vary based on the thickness of the burger. Adjust accordingly.
- The best way to be sure your burger is safe to eat is to check the internal temperature using an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of the patty.
- Feel free to adjust the seasoning in this recipe to suit your family’s tastes. Try adding onion powder, black pepper, garlic powder, or your favorite seasoning blend.
- Store leftover patties in an airtight container in the fridge.
Ingredients
- Ground beef – I like to use lean ground beef but any beef will do. You could also add ground pork if you would like.
- 1 egg – farm fresh is always a treat!
- Breadcrumbs – we like to use Panko breadcrumbs but again, this is up to you.
- Blue cheese, crumbled – this is cooked right into the pattie, giving the burgers that extra “zing”. Adding it as a topping is totally optional.
- Worcestershire sauce – say that three times fast!
- Hamburger seasoning – I make the best homemade hamburger seasoning but you are welcome to just add a teaspoon of salt and pepper or Montreal steak spice.
