Traeger Grilled Chicken Wings

These grilled wings are absolutely delicious – using a Traeger grill makes wings just as crispy as your air fryer, I promise! While the Traeger is clearly our favorite, a charcoal grill or gas grill would work for this recipe too.

We prefer to cook these on the smoker because the indirect heat is the best way to cook whole wings evenly and quickly. This cooking method also adds extra flavor to these Traeger wings.

How long does it take to grill chicken wings?

Chicken wings typically take 25-30 minutes to cook on the grill. Be sure to flip them every five minutes so that they cook evenly and develop crispy skin.

These crispy chicken wings are best served with a side of french fries, dill & dijon potato salad or ranch dressing for dipping.  This is my favorite way to cook chicken wings and one of our most shared Traeger recipes!

TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • Store leftovers in an air tight container in the fridge for up to a week.
  • Add a little bit of onion powder, chili powder, garlic powder, black pepper or cayenne pepper to the coated chicken before grilling to take them up a notch.
  • You could coat the wing tips with BBQ sauce or buffalo sauce before grilling.
  • Use olive oil to season your grill before cooking, this will help to prevent the chicken wings from sticking.
  • Optionally, line your grill with aluminum foil so that the wings don’t stick to the grill grates.
